NEW YORK, N.Y. - 160527-N-IT235-005 NEW YORK (May 27, 2016) A child enjoys meeting Stewie, the Navy's environmental turtle mascot, at the "Stewards of the Sea: Defending Freedom, Protecting the Environment" exhibit at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal during Fleet Week New York 2016. Navy use of energy saving technologies and energy efficent operational procedures enables ships and aircraft to go farther, stay longer and deliver more firepower without having to refuel. The Navy also uses domestically-produced alternative fuels to create flexibility and increase energy independence. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class J.R.
