Fleet Master Chief Perryman, a native of San Antonio, Texas, serves as the senior enlisted advisor for Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, which consists of more than 100,000 active duty and reserve personnel who serve on more than 120 ships and submarines and nearly 80 shore activities within the command’s area of responsibility.
In August of 1994, he entered the U.S. Navy attending basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon completion of basic training, Master Chief Perryman attended Basic Enlisted Submarine School (BESS) and Electronics Technician "A" and "C" Schools in Groton, Conn.
His at sea assignments as a Submarine Electronics Technician include USS Bremerton (SSN 698), USS Dolphin (AGSS 555), and USS Cheyenne (SSN 773).
Ashore his in-rate assignments include the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and the Staff of Commander, Submarine Squadron Seven.
In April 2010, he attended the Senior Enlisted Academy Resident course and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Capstone course before reporting to USS Hawaii (SSN 776) in June of 2010 as Chief of the Boat.
Master Chief Perryman’s other Command Senior Enlisted Leader positions include the staff of Commander, Submarine Force U.S. Pacific Fleet as the Tactical Readiness Evaluation Team Chief of the Boat, Command Master Chief for Commander, Submarine Group Seven, Force Master Chief for Commander, Submarine Force Atlantic, and Command Senior Enlisted Leader for United States Strategic Command.
Master Chief Perryman is authorized to wear numerous personal awards. He is most proud of the six Battle "E" awards and the other unit awards he has earned with his shipmates.
